About the KNAW Education Prize
The Academy Education Prize was established in 2008 to mark the Academy’s bicentenary. With it, the Academy aims to draw attention to and enhance the quality of education in the Netherlands. The submission of almost five hundred research papers from nearly two hundred schools each year reflects the great potential of talented young people in Dutch secondary education.
Inspiring teaching is crucial to imparting a fascination for and knowledge of science. Besides the pupils themselves, teachers and schools that challenge them to achieve their best are also honoured.
The Academy Education Prize is co-funded by the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science. It is organised by the Academy.
