The Heineken Young Scientists Awards are awarded every two years to recognise young researchers who have made outstanding scientific contributions and set an example for other young scientists. A laureate receives a cash prize of 10,000 euros.
About the Heineken Young Scientists Awards
The Heineken Young Scientists Awards were established in 2010 and are awarded and presented by the Alfred Heineken Funds Foundation.
The Academy is no longer involved in nominating and selecting laureates of the Heineken Prizes. The Heineken Foundations will continue to award the prizes independently in a modified form. More information is available on the Heineken Prizes website: www.heinekenprizes.org.
The Alfred Heineken Fondsen Foundation and Dr A.H. Heineken Foundation for Art (the Foundations) and the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW) have worked together since 1964 on these international prizes, in which the Academy handled the nomination process and selected the laureates. The Foundations and the Academy have jointly decided that the nomination and selection process of the Heineken Prizes 2024 will not be supervised by the Academy.
