Introduction

More than 600 young scientists from more than 80 countries and nearly 40 Nobel laureates will be meeting in Lindau (Germany) this summer to share knowledge and inspiration. The 600 include seven top young scientists from the Netherlands.

The Academy nominates young scientists to the Council for the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings, which makes the selection for participation. The Academy makes a contribution towards the costs of its nominees' participation.

The focus of the meetings this year is on physiology and medicine. The programme includes lectures by Nobel laureates (and interactive lunches with them), master classes, poster presentations, "Science Walks", and various social events.

About the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings

The aim of the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings is to encourage the transfer of knowledge between generations of scientists, reinforce international networks, and inspire both young researchers and Nobel laureates. The meetings take place annually, focussing on different disciplines each time. 

The Council for the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings has organised this annual event since 1951. The Academy has participated since 2008. The 72nd Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings will take place from 25-30 June 2023.
