Cross-fertilisation between arts and sciences
An artist awarded an Artist-in-Residence Fellowship spends three months at the KNIR in Rome working on a project that contributes specifically to cross-fertilisation between the arts and the sciences. The programme was established by the Royal Netherlands Institute in Rome (KNIR) and the Society of Arts.
Fellows are expected to play an active role in the life of the KNIR’s academic community and to promote cross-fertilisation between the arts and the sciences there.
Autumn 2024
The 2024 residency period will begin on 15 September and end on 15 December. Fellows receive a monthly stipend for a maximum of three months and are assigned temporary housing in one of the KNIR’s guest apartments.
Who is eligible?
- Dutch artists.
- Artists of other nationalities who live and work in the Netherlands.
Nominations and applications
Nomination rounds are open to all. Candidates who are not a member of the Society of Arts must be nominated. Self-nominations will be disregarded.
Members of the Society of Arts may apply for a fellowship on their own behalf.
Applications and nominations are not being accepted at this time. Nominations may be submitted from February to April 2025 using the form that will be posted on this page during that period.
