Do you have a project in mind that contributes to the cross-pollination between art and academics? From today, it is possible to apply for the annual five-month Artist-in-Residence programme at NIAS in 2026.

Academics and art

The aim of this fellowship is to conduct an in-depth theoretical study of an artistic project, and then develop it into a final product such as, for example, an essay, film or concept.

The programme aims for artistic and academic cross-fertilisation, all fellows conduct research at the same time and share their ideas and findings with each other during their fellowship. The result of the research must be made accessible to the public.
 

Who is eligible?

  • Artists living and working in the Netherlands
  • Artists with Dutch nationality, regardless of whether they live in the Netherlands or abroad
