Introduction

The Society wishes to draw attention to the debate on intersectional inequality in the art world and society in general, and endeavours to make its membership and activities inclusive and an accurate reflection of society.

The Society of Arts believes in the importance of solidarity, diversity, sustainability, trust and transparency in safeguarding the essential role and significance of the arts in society. It sees this not solely as a matter of cultural or ethnic background but also of gender, sexual orientation, age, knowledge, disability, social class, caste, and so on.
